Dan is a gifted teacher as well as an artist. He loves to share knowledge
and enrich lives. Although he taught in Alaska for a year, most of his teaching
career was in Michigan.
In 1965 & 1966 Dan studied commercial art at Ferris State University.
In 1968 he studied art at Lansing Community College. With a major in history
and a minor in art, he graduated from Central Michigan University in 1971 with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. He then earned his masters
in history in 1979 from Eastern Michigan University.
Dan taught social studies at the Wyandotte Public Schools in Wyandotte, Michigan
from 1972 to 1977 and at King Cove City Schools in Alaska to students in grades
9 through 12 from 1977 through 1978.
He also taught history, elementary arts and high school art history at the Gross
Ile Township Schools from 1980 to 1997. At the Crawford AuSable Schools in 1998
he taught special education classes.

Dan on Cooking
Cooking and art have things in common. Most of us like food, and some of us
like to cook. Dan enjoys cooking man style dishes and relates some of
the techniques to his art.
